What is The Metapolis? We know it is a Metaverse Project. But really, what is it??
This blog is an introduction to @themetapolis, which is both a Metaverse AND a MAAS (Metaverse-As-A-Service) platform.
Nothing in this thread is financial advice.
We last established the importance of the Metaverse and MAAS in my previous thread. If you have not read it yet and are unfamiliar with what the Metaverse and MAAS are, please review the previous blog before proceeding:

So now that we know what the Metaverse and MAAS are, let’s get started.
Just like the many companies that moved into using social media over the past 15 years, it is likely that they will move into the Metaverse in the same way in the coming years.
Companies need engagement. They need clients and customers. They need partnerships. Social media was the main medium of engagement for businesses over the last 15-20 years in order to maintain these crucial relationships for business growth and maintenance.
As we continue to evolve into more advanced iterations of the Internet and the digital space, there will be a massive onboarding and movement of all sorts of large corporations, non-profit organizations, small businesses, and even governmental organizations that will likely move into the Metaverse to stay up-to-date on the main medium of engagement in the world.
The Metaverse is likely to be the next big iteration of the Internet and Social Media.
The Metaverse can become the main medium of online engagement in the world one day. Of course, social media will still be important and useful because some people will just never want to engage in a virtual reality or be unwilling/unable to learn, but it may take a backseat to the Metaverse in terms of being a widely used medium of communication and interaction in the digital world.
Does it sound crazy? Maybe to some. But not if you consider how technology is evolving and how Web 2 is changing into Web 3. Is it crazy to believe that logging into and using a Metaverse will be easier than logging into and using social media one day? Maybe not.
It is likely that the use of the Metaverse will grow significantly and become mainstream.
But before that happens, there will be a large transitional period of onboarding that moves businesses and institutions onto the Metaverse.
This transition period can be rough without any sort of assistance.
Think about it. You have many companies and their employees who are trained in Web 2. Now they face the learning curves of Web 3 AND the Metaverse. Those are two big learning curves if you consider a massive company with hundreds or thousands of employees, and then the hundreds and thousands companies who will be using the Metaverse in the future in order to keep up with the times.
And then you have the different forms of Metaverse use. Will the organization want to create their own Metaverse? Their own sub-Metaverse within a Metaverse (Microverse)? Will they want to set up their own digital plot of land to establish their business in? Will they just be renting land in the Metaverse for a two week promotion? Or they just be holding a 1 day concert, party or art exhibition event?
So not only is there a learning curve, there is a degree of personalization that each company or brand will need help with, depending on what they are trying to do.
Whatever the situation is, getting onboarded onto the Metaverse during the transitional years is a much needed service. The learning curve to effectively get onto the Metaverse in the right way on an enterprise level will be significantly larger than starting a company social media account.
If our overall society and economy is moving towards the Metaverse, then companies will want to keep up with that and get onboarded as soon as possible (starting now) so they do not get left behind. Businesses need to adapt with the times quickly, easily and efficiently.
But if the process is too complicated, it will be very time consuming and frustrating. Because remember, these businesses won’t need help with just getting onboard. They need help with STAYING onboard too. They may run into many questions or issues during their use of the Metaverse.
And this is PRECISELY why the MAAS (Metaverse-As-A-Service) is needed.
@themetapolis is a Web 3 Metaverse platform that is specializing in helping onboarding many companies during this Web 2 to Web 3 Metaverse transitional period. They forsee the need for this service due to the coming large exodus of people and organizations moving into the Metaverse.
That’s why they are specializing in being the gold standard of MAAS, or Metaverse as a Service.
So what is The Metapolis? Check out this video first by @mponnada, the co-founder of @themetapolis, for an awesome intro, not to mention him tearing up the virtual dance floor:
One big theme to take away from this video is that the Metapolis is very mass adoption-focused and practical. They want to build a strong connection between the physical and digital worlds, just like they want to facilitate an easy transition of Web 2 organizations becoming Metaverse organizations.
A glimpse of a Web 3 Metaverse Company Space:
But to be clear, even though they feature practicality and Metaverse enterprise solutions, this is STILL a full, high quality Metaverse that fully embraces the social interaction aspect of the Metaverse:
Now following along the practicality aspect of the Metapolis, watch this video here where @sandra_tlibe and @mponnada explain an important aspect of Metapolis: accessibility!
So now we are getting a bigger picture of what Metapolis is truly setting out to do here. A big part of being transition-focused and practical is making sure that the Metaverse is accessible to EVERYONE. That’s what made social media explode. It was the accessibility aspect of it. Smart phones eventually became affordable to many people all over the world, which made social media that much more accessible.
So Metapolis has a grand vision. Yes it will feature the MAAS, but it will also include all the important features that will enable the mass adoption of this Metaverse platform for a massive amount of different use cases.
From that video, you can see that Metapolis aims to let users toggle between low poly and high poly graphics, which enables people without expensive hardware to access all the utilities of the Metaverse straight from their browsers! This is huge. You can include people from all socio-economic statuses from all over the world who can potentially access Metapolis to create life changing opportunities: social, creative and financial opportunities.
This is exactly what Web 3 and decentralization is about: utilizing exciting technology to open up opportunities for everyone all over the world to build communities to embrace the spirit of creation.
Now let’s dive deeper into the different aspects of @themetapolis. When we dive deeper, we see that MAAS is a large part of Metapolis that differentiates it from other Metaverses. But there is so much more to it.
Metapolis is focused on establishing these characteristics to truly become “The Next Internet”:
Digital Identity
Open Platform
Channel for Business (MAAS)
Always-On Layer of Engagement
Social Layer
Universal Metaverse Currency
Interoperable Standard
So these are the aspects that you would really want in “The Next Internet”.
You would want to be able to create your own avatar, or digital identity. You want an open platform that anyone can use (as reinforced by the fact that you can access Metapolis straight from the browser with lower graphics if you choose). You want the MAAS to onboard the future businesses easily. You want the Metaverse to be “always on” and be an ongoing virtual world of its own. You want it to be the next evolution of digital social interaction that improves the social experience of the Internet. You want an easy to use Metaverse currency to transfer and exchange value at the universal level. And of course, you want it to be fully interoperable so anyone can easily transfer their engagement and progress cross multiple blockchains and sectors in the Metaverse.
So what some examples of things we can do in Metapolis?
These are just some of the possibilities:
Create Avatars: these avatars can be used for working, socializing and playing in the Metaverse. They are fully interoperable across multiple blockchains.
Socalize: This one is obvious! Did you you not see the party rooms in the previous videos?
Land Parcels: You can purchase and sell digital lands in the form of NFTs on Metapolis. You can also develop and build on them, making endless possibilities in terms of creativity, creating value, and business.
P&E Gaming: There will be gaming. Imagine when gaming companies get onboarded onto Metapolis, creating all the amazing gaming and earning opportunities on there in a fully immersive experience?
Host and Join Events, Expos, and Shows: This would be a great opportunity for business and entertainment. Concerts, art and fashion expos, lectures, you name it.
E-commerce: This can take the e-commerce experience of Shopify or Amazon to a whole new level. What if you can create a true representation of your physical store as a highly immersive digital store in Metapolis? This could make the online shopping experience more engaging and more profitable if done the right way. Could be create very engaging experience between the owners of the e-commerce business and potential customers passing by in the digital world.
Meta Estate: Architects and digital developers can seamlessly build structures on Metapolis and showcase and sell their work.
MetapoliFi: Don’t forget DeFi! BOTH tokens and NFTs will be able to be traded, lended and staked. The Metaverse and DeFi coming together here.
Multi-Blockchain Feature: This goes back into the focus on interoperability. Although Metapolis is initially powered by @Zilliqa, it can be customized and deployed on many major blockchains.
Metaverses and Microverses: You can customize mini or sub-Metaverses, or Microverses, according to your needs. What is an example of a Microverse? How about #MGenesis? More on that in my next thread. Genesis!! (eyes)
Mixed Reality Portals: This is a good time to discuss XR (Extended Reality). Augmented reality is the the overlay of digital elements or the digital reality onto the physical world, often exemplified by NFTs overlaid into a physical reality as shown through a smart phone. VR, as we know, is the self continuing and living virtual digital universe that you can enter and fully immerse yourself in. MR (mixed reality) uses technology to blend and blur the lines between the physical and virtual worlds. XR is an umbrella term that encompasses all of AR, VR, and MR technologies and utilizes all three to an extent. How does it do this? One example is the use of VR headsets and/or wearables where you can interact with the Metaverse with real life body movements that can translate into the virtual avatar you are controlling. Exciting stuff. This is true top quality user experience.
ADverse: The Advertisement-Verse! Of course, advertising has to be a big factor in Metapolis. Imagine giant digital billboards in popular areas in the Metaverse that receive a lot of foot traffic. For example, you can pay to have your company and services advertised at certain virtual locations and times throughout the day. And people (or meta-humans rather) passing by can click on the ad that is running to be transported straight to your company page/land plot or virtual store.
Okay, now let’s look into the technology, or the tech stack, that is behind Metapolis.
The tech stack is supported by the @Zilliqa blockchain as a foundation. Scilla is a smart contract language used by Metapolis that is focused on safety from application attacks by eliminating language-level vulnerabilities. User-level safety measures such as “safety bubbles”, automated flagging, and blocking algorithms will all be used in the Metapolis.
The asset creation aspect of Metapolis is supported by: @itsclo3d @Blender @CLO_virtual (marvelousdesigner.com), and Maya 3D.
The Metaverse Layer is supported by: @nvidiaomniverse, @unity, @UnrealEngine, reactjs.org, @WebGL, and @ThePSF.
Metapolis is the middle of securing many partnerships. The ones already secured are: @zilliqa, @MADLions_EN, @Agora_awards, @de_monsters, @NIP and more.
The current roadmap is as follows:
Now finally, let’s take a look at the All-Star team that has created and pushed forward Metapolis:
